InSync is an interactive mobile and watch application that reimagines fitness and music using wearables and AI technology. InSync monitors your live heartrate and plays songs of a complimentary BPM throughout your workout creating your own curated soundtrack to cheer you on every step of the way
To get started, just pair your headphones and smartwatch to your mobile phone, and connect to your favourite music streaming platform (i.e. Spotify, Apple Music, etc). Using data from your music streaming platform, InSync automatically plays and suggests songs that you are currently into.
Then, all you have to do is press play and InSync will learn along the way.
Music is for moving and everything is better with a beat.
insync, 2024
As you (your heartrate, behaviour and preferences) influence what songs are played, you are also driven and influenced by the music suggested to you.
Consequently, InSync is constantly in a dance with you, adapting and growing to maintain balance and increase the enjoyment you get out of your workout.
Our aim is to leverage emerging technology and our human disposition to music to create an autonomous music experience that encourages people to be active because they now enjoy it more AND it’s improving their physical and general well-being.
Listening to synchronous music significantly lowers rate of perceived exertion (RPE) and is most effective for high intensity training

InSync tracks your heartrate and plays songs of a matching or complimentary BPM (beats per minute). Based on your goals and workout mode, you can stay active with the motivation of having your own personal soundtrack alongside you throughout warm-up, workout and cooldown.
There are 3 workout modes :
Push – music to help you exceed your limits
Motivate – music to encourage you to keep moving
Vibe – music to ensure you have a good time at whatever pace you’re comfortable with
There are two workout types:
Solo – for an immersive individual experience where you can tune out the world and focus
Group – for keeping the group in-time and on track so you can smash those goals or just have a good time together
The threshold is a BPM range that InSync has determined is complimentary to your current heartrate. The threshold assists InSync in recognising when you’re speeding up, warming up or cooling down. Based off this real-time recognition, a suitable song is played for you – this process is powered by artificial intelligence (AI).
The is threshold is influenced by these factors:
– Your chosen mode (i.e. push, vibe motivate)
– Any goals you set in-app (e.g. running 5km in 30 minutes)
– Baseline heartrate (a reading of your resting heartrate is done during initial setup to give the application a better indication of your fitness levels)*
– (And most importantly) your current heartrate
Note: As you get fitter and your baseline heartrate decreases, InSync will notice and factor this into your workouts.
The Push mode has the greatest threshold and allows for songs of the highest BPM for your current fitness level. Followed by motivate which has a slightly lower threshold, and then Vibe has a lower threshold after that.
During your workout, exceeding your threshold triggers InSync to adjust to songs of a higher BPM while dropping below will trigger slower tempo songs.
By selecting, preferred genres, ‘hearting’ and skipping songs, InSync learns from you and adapts to provide you with a fresh and motivating soundtrack tuned into you. This removes the effort of curating a playlist and constantly having to update or skipping songs so it ‘hits the spot’ for each workout.
Not every genre is workout worthy. Hear us out.
Much like ‘hearting’ songs, selecting preferred genres means that InSync will target songs from those genres as opposed to suggesting songs from all genres. This prevents songs from playing that you may enjoy but they don’t motivate you during a workout.
