Dear Neighbour is a location specific social media app, where users can review local businesses by sending, receiving and posting digital postcards. The app promotes a sense of community, leverages local businesses, and provides a platform for genuine and lasting connection.
The app serves as a digital letterbox to look back on past visits, set favourite spots, and discover new places. The personalised homepage gives recommendations based on your hobbies, location, and places relevant to your friends. With options to print postcards, visit places together, and collect postcards from participating businesses, Dear Neighbour bridges the gap between digital and physical.
The art of postcard writing is personal and thoughtful and connects people through personal experiences. This along with my personal experience moving to Kangaroo Point led to Dear Neighbour. It is designed for new users, those that have moved interstate, or those that simply feel disconnected with their environment. Dear Neighbour offers a fun, low stress way for people to get involved and interact with others in-person. While developing this app I have found some amazing local spots and built connections with my neighbours. I hope others can have this rewarding experience on Dear Neighbour.
