AccessMate is an accessible travel app designed to assist people with disabilities in navigating routes, booking accessible transport, and discovering user-reviewed locations in Brisbane. The app offers real-time navigation, public transport schedules, and community-shared accessibility insights, empowering users with greater independence and confidence in their travels.

Map Obstacle Marking

AccessMate’s map obstacle marking feature enables users to view and tag obstacles that may impact accessible travel, such as stairs, steep inclines, narrow pathways, and other potential barriers. Users can plan routes ahead of time to avoid these obstacles and share their travel experiences, providing valuable navigation insights for other users.

Real-Time Navigation

AccessMate’s real-time navigation feature integrates public transport information with accessible route suggestions, offering tailored travel guidance for users with disabilities. Users can select optimal accessible routes, avoiding complicated barriers, and access specific details like slopes or handrails, making the journey smoother.

Accessible Transport Booking

To enhance travel convenience, AccessMate provides accessible transport booking, allowing users to book professional wheelchair-accessible taxi services or dedicated buses for people with disabilities. The booking page is designed with familiar layouts inspired by platforms like Uber and Didi, creating a user-friendly experience.

Accessible Location Browsing

The accessible location browsing feature serves as a community platform where users can share their accessibility experiences at various places, such as parks, shopping centers, and restaurants. With user-generated reviews, others can easily find recommended accessible locations. Additionally, the platform provides ranked lists, like “Top Accessible Parks,” helping users choose the best destinations.

Personalization Settings

AccessMate offers personalization settings that allow users to customize their travel preferences, such as prioritizing accessible restrooms or low-incline paths. Users can also save frequently used addresses, enabling quick setup of navigation starting points and destinations for more efficient travel.

Community Feedback

Users can share and review their accessible travel experiences within the community, assisting others in planning accessible routes. Through community feedback, users can learn about the accessibility of various locations and avoid potential obstacles. They can also suggest improvements to further enhance the accessible travel ecosystem.
