BlossoMind

BlossoMind is an interactive tool bridging the gap between therapist and psychiatric patient, serving as support for traditional therapy practices. It was created to respond to the most frequently reported issues and needs of the target audience. It incorporates psychoeducation, a community where users can share their journey, access to medical history, and tools supporting patient’s well-being. A high degree of personalization offers three different modes designed specifically for patients diagnosed with depression, anxiety disorder and schizophrenia.

The idea

The Gap

Mental health apps have progressively gained popularity in the past few years. Despite that trend, only 10% of all psychiatric/psychological patients use any kind of mobile app to support or undergo their treatment, while more than 70% of all psychiatric patients report that they would want to use a mobile app if they had a chance. Where does this inconsistency come from? The research shows that privacy concerns, lack of personalisation, and confusing interface are listed among the most common reasons behind unwillingness to use this kind of system. Therefore, I decided to address those issues and create an app that would respond to those needs.

Personalisation

Moreover, it was discovered that depending on the diagnosis, some patients might prefer different colour schemes and design solutions. This phenomenon is related to how the information is processed in the brain. Accounting for these differences could allow for the best possible user experience and support patients during their treatment process. The designed app allows for the selection of one of the three modes and more advanced personalization if needed.
