ProMusica: An Interactive Pop-Up Experience

ProMusica is personalised pop up experience that gives music fans a unique and interactive experience, prior to the release of an album.

This experience utilises projection mapping to display a visual based on each song within the album. Fans are able to scan a QR code from a personalised keepsake, determined by a quiz, which will display a visual based for the song that suits them best.

Ever had your favourite artist skip your city on their tour? Ever felt like listening to music on your phone isn’t engaging enough?

What is ProMusica?

ProMusic is a themed interactive pop up exhibition that would be placed in cities around the world prior to the release of an album. It focuses on creating a unique experience for fans that want to experience music from their favourite artist, differently. Fans are able to find out which song on the album suits them best by completing a personality quiz, which guides them to receive their keepsake containing their results. They can then scan the QR code found on their keepsake, which will project a unique visual onto the wall with a snippet of the song that corresponds with their result. This experience utilises projection mapping to create a more engaging and immersive experience. This 3D animation is displayed at the end of the visuals.

How can fans experience music in a unique and engaging way, outside of concerts and digital music consumption?

Why is ProMusica Important?

This project is based around the idea that besides concerts and listening to music on your own, there isn’t really any opportunity to connect with an artist by engaging with their music or content, unless they come to your city. I wanted to create a unique opportunity for fans, like myself, that allowed them to experience music from their favourite artist in a personalised and engaging way. Since this pop-up event would be a budget friendly option for marketing companies than concerts, it would allow for a more widespread placement for pop-ups. This means that fans who might not have access to a concerts where they live, can get to experience an event from their artist.

Keepsakes (pictured above) are folded in on itself to create a square shape and are placed within the silver balls in the box, where fans are guided to based on their quiz results. The unfolding process creates some suspense as to which result fans received. Fans are encouraged to take home their keepsake, where they can scan the QR Code and relive the experience once the album drops.
